Sho Madjozi is known for her colourful and funky braided hairstyles so it’s not surprising that children all over South Africa look to her for hair inspiration.

Many parents took to Twitter to share pictures of their daughters rocking the funky braids and thanked the John Cena hit-maker for the positive influence.

These are some pictures of their children rocking the hair-do.

Speaking in an interview with DRUM last year, Sho Madjozi revealed how being able to influence young girls means everything to her.

“The thing that gives me deep satisfaction is when little girls are like, ‘I want to look like Sho Madjozi’, and not saying they want to look like Barbie,” she said.

The rapper also shared how proud she was of starting a movement where people were embracing themselves as they were.

“I’ve changed a lot of things culturally and socially. If you look at hair, for example, people weren’t doing braids with beads at a club four or five years ago. Through my movement a lot of people have gone back to embracing who they are,” she added.

Now that the school holidays are coming to an end, parents pleaded with the rapper to change her braids into a school-friendly one so that their little ones could also do the same.

“Hi @ShoMadjozi please please in January, do a simple hairstyle to influence our daughters when they go back to school! Please!, [sic]” one parent wrote.
