This first-time dad had always wondered why his wife looked like she was in pain while breastfeeding their daughter – until the baby latched onto his chest in an attempt to suckle milk.

Ronnie Dunston from Springdale in the US shared a picture online of a bruise that was left on his chest by his daughter, Nubia, who has no teeth, after she latched onto him in an attempt to breastfeed, The Sun reported.

“My wife was at the gym, so I carried her (Nubia) downstairs to make a bottle,” the doting dad wrote on Facebook.

“While we're waiting for the bottle to warm up, I'm shirtless and Nubia is laying on my shoulder. She starts moving her head all crazy, then just starts to suck on my clavicle.”

Although he laughed off the incident, and explained to the little one that “you're not going to get anything from there buddy”, the last thing he expected was for his toothless daughter’s suction to turn into “some blood-sucking Dracula” type of force.

“Listen man, she had some newborn vampire, type strength,” he wrote.

In an attempt to prevent Nubia from suckling on him again, the dad quickly prepared formula for her. But when he looked in the mirror he realised that she’d left him with a bruise.

“These babies are dangerous,” he said, adding that he’d never make fun of his wife again for looking like she was in pain while feeding their daughter.
