Little Tarli Staines from the UK was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which creates difficulty controlling mobility and movement in her arms and legs.

Despite this, her mother, Leonie Staines, was determined to see her daughter walk, Metro reported.

The 10-year-old, who was born at just 30 weeks, has had four hip operations to try to augment her movements.

Leonie took to Facebook and explained in a heartbreaking post that her daughter has a dream of walking.

“I knew I was dreaming, and I felt so angry, but I didn’t want it to end. I woke up crying and felt guilty – but it got me thinking,” Leonie revealed. “What if when Tarli dreams, she’s walking? It just breaks my heart.

“I’d accepted that Tarli wouldn’t walk.”

After a GoFundMe account was opened, the community raised enough funds to enable Tarli’s family to purchase a special leg brace.

“Just four days after I’d put up the Facebook post, Tarli took her first steps wearing the brace,” Leonie explained.

In another post shared on her Facebook page, the mother of three shared the emotional moment her beloved daughter took her first steps.

“I can’t tell you how this felt because I still can’t find the words, but Tarli’s smile can probably tell you all,” she captioned the post.

“She sobbed and sobbed afterwards and said she had never been so happy in her life. The kindness and generosity we’ve been shown has left me speechless. People will never know quite what they’ve done for us,” Leonie added, speaking to DailyMail.

“I just want to say thank you once again to every single one of you for donating – we’re still getting donations coming in. I’m honestly just speechless.”
