Two-year-old leukemia victim Phoenix Thompson was left speechless when her dad, Brett, surprised her with a daddy-daughter dance in a hospital in Georgia, USA.
Phoenix started with aggressive chemotherapy on 4 August and finished her first round in just 12 days, CNN reports.
Her dad decided to plan a special dance for his little princess to celebrate this achievement and organised for a dress to be delivered to his daughter’s room by a nurse.
He then arrived in a suit and tie, waltzed into her room and asked little Phoenix for a dance.
She rushed around the bed and jumped into her father’s arms as he played the song My Little Girl by country singer Tim McGraw.
Phoenix’s stepmom, Christina Thompson, posted a video of the two dancing on her Facebook page.
“I mean, honestly, I don’t think I could’ve picked a better man for my kids,” she wrote in the caption. “At two years old this is hard on her on her family and the people who love her. These little moments make these times not so hard.”
Apart from Phoenix, Brett and Christina have four other children to take care of.
The video of the daddy-daughter dance has gone viral with more than 60 000 times to date.
Phoenix was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) on 2 August.
According to her GoFundMe page she’s set to complete four rounds of chemotherapy in a five-month span.
