These villainous names for these twin newborns have caused a stir in the family.

A woman has been criticised by her mother for naming her two baby girls after TV show villains, the Mirror reports.

The woman explained that she welcomed the newborn twins before the coronavirus lockdown and planned on keeping the names a secret before announcing their birth and gender.

The names she chose were from characters she “loves and holds near and dear”.

But the announcement caused a riot among family members, with her mother leading the onslaught.

In a post on Reddit, the woman claims her mother was “livid” as the names won’t represent the twins well.

“I made a post about it and everything seemed fine until I got a message in the family group chat,” she wrote.

“My mother was livid that I’d name my girls after two villains whose names won’t ‘represent my daughters well’.

“I told her the names don’t define who they are. She didn’t respond but I [found] a long Facebook post about how I ‘doomed’ my ‘sweet little angles’ and how names have weight and will affect how they turn out.”

The names are quite unique.

“The names are Azula [from Avatar: The Last Air Bender] and Eclipsa [from Star vs the Forces of Evil],” she said in her Reddit post.

She asked users if she’d made the wrong decision, and many Reddit users sided with her upset mother.

“Your kids have to live with those names for the rest of their lives,” one user wrote.

“I feel like Azula isn’t that bad. It’s an actual name and it means blue and is unique but not weird. However Eclipsa? That’s not even an actual name,” someone else added.

It seems people really don’t love parents getting a little creative with names.
