A mom got the shock of her life after being rushed to hospital with what she thought were kidney stones.

Dannette Glitz, from Dakota in the US, had absolutely no clue she was pregnant with triplets because she hadn’t experienced any morning sickness or movement from the babies, according to USA Today.

The new mom of five, took to Facebook to share that she started experiencing sharp pains in her back earlier this month.

"I started getting pains in my back and in my side and it felt like kidney stones,” Dannette said.

"I kept pushing on till Saturday and I was in so much pain all I could do was lie in my bed and cry. It hurt to move and even breath."

The mom then went to hospital thinking she had kidney stones, but doctors revealed the shocking news that she was 34 weeks pregnant and in labour with multiple babies, the Mirror reports.

“You don’t ever see triplets being conceived naturally, let alone going 34 weeks without knowing,” she said.

“So, everyone’s like, I can’t believe it. We’re still in shock, trust me.

“I go to the doctor’s thinking I’ll have surgery for kidney stones and end up going into labour with a C-section that night. It’s crazy.”

The adorable triplets, named Blaze, Gypsy and Nikki, were born within four minutes on 10 August and weighed 4 pounds (around 1,8kg) each.

The couple’s friends have started a fundraising page to help them with baby supplies.
