'Did you see Eto'o's goal?'
As a matter of fact, I did. There aren't many key sporting events that pass me by.
Last weekend I was shouting 'Go Bulls!' loudly. I've seen the Stormers, the Proteas and even the something-or-other Chargers in person.
By nature I am not the sportiest person. I have always been built more for comfort than for speed. But because my father and brother loved sport, and my sons love sport, I have become a fan too. Partly out of self-defence, but also because it gives me something to talk to them about that doesn't involve me giving orders or them asking for stuff.
And if they're on the field, that's me with the rain dripping down the back of my neck.
