I can remember at the same age feeling I was a good artist, using colour exhuberantly. Until I hit high school and a teacher who made me feel that my pictures weren't neat and normal enough.
Miles, now 16, lost his muse in preschool, when he was told that zebras can't be purple.
I'm hoping Joel will have a lifetime of expressing himself in pictures, writing, dancing, singing or whatever he feels like.
