'What I love about Ouma is that she is so enthusiastic about everything,' says my son Joel.
He's right, my mom is bok for any activity, from cave golf to finger painting. Whereas I am more likely to say 'later' or 'too messy' or 'after I clean this.'
It's because Ouma's time with them is short - tomorrow she is on the plane back home. But it's also because I am so in the habit of saying 'no' first, I often forget that it is possible to say 'yes'.
So 2010 is my year of saying yes to family fun instead of being a stick-in-the-mud. Y.E.S!
