When his mom suddenly went into labour at home, he was the only person around to help. Despite being only 5-years-old, Joby managed to call for help, fetch towels to swaddle the baby and encouraged his mother during the birth. Not only that, but he even saved the newborn's life by untangling the umbilical cord which was wrapped around the baby's neck, according to the Daily Mail.

Surprised mom

Joby's mom is amazed that her son knew exactly what to do, and she's calling him her "superhero". According to her, the baby was choking, and she was trying to revive him, when Joby saved valuable time by untangling the umbilical cord.

It seems as though the siblings will be very close, too, especially since Joby has been a hands-on brother throughout the pregnancy, even accompanying his mom to scans and helping her pick out clothes and baby equipment.

But wait, there's more!

The extent of his involvement is clear, when you listen to his mom's glowing praise: "He was my little helper around the house and whenever I got stressed he would say, "Calm down, mummy. Think of the baby,'" said Joby's mom, Kelly Graves. She explained that she had been careful to teach her son the emergency telephone number, as well as making sure that he always knew what to do in the event of an emergency. She says that from the way she was holding the baby, she would have been unable to untangle the cord, but her son seemed to know exactly what to do.

Joby even chose his new brother's name, "Harley", but insists that he won't be a career midwife- He's aiming to be a policeman.

Do you think your child would be able to assist you in an emergency?
