Woman gives birth in under a minute

accreditation

Jessica and Tom Stubbins are just two ordinary people, who were patiently awaiting the arrival of their second child. When Jessica thought it was "that" time, they hurried off to hospital.

Tom dropped his wife off at the front door after she advised it may be the smarter thing to do, and it was smart indeed, because Jessica just about made it into the foyer of the hospital before she gave birth to her daughter.

Unfortunately, her husband just missed his daughter's birth, because he was still parking the car.

Jessica told how she felt quite guilty and kept apologising to Tom, because he had missed the birth. But Tom didn't actually know what was going on and was simply dumbstruck once he saw his wife holding their newborn baby (with umbilical chord still attached).

Jessica and Tom told Good Morning Britain they went to the hospital earlier during the day because she felt like it was time, but staff at the hospital sent them home. They then went back to the hospital around midnight and that's when Jessica gave birth in the foyer.

After Tom had managed to park the car and realised what had happened, a nurse and a midwife were alerted and came to help Jessica. The nurse took her hoody off and wrapped the baby in it and the midwife got a wheelchair for Jessica.

Jessica and Tom, along with their daughters Penny and the new arrival, Lily, are all doing very well.

A few of our readers were fortunate to experience rapid labour, but none as quickly as Jessica.
