According to Laura Wattenburg from The Baby Name Wizard, 144 girls were named Khaleesi. In case there are some of who who don't watch Game of Thrones or who haven't read George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire, Khaleesi means "Queen" in the Dothraki language. Before we had conceived The Husband and I used to dream up names for our kids often venturing into the world's of TV or anime for middle names for our kids.
But that was before we were with child and realised how cruel children can be at school. So now we're looking at more traditional names. In Islam it is said that you should give your child a name with a good meaning so that it can be something they aspire to. It doesn't necessarily have to be an Arabic name, but one with a good meaning.
We asked our Facebook fans if they would you name their child after a TV character and here's what they had to say:
I named my daughter after Eddie's daughter on Ab-Fab, Saffron (but I've heard of other kids with the name too), so yes, I would. - Tracey-Lee Braunger
LOL, Daenerys would have been better! - Ursula Kruis
I did my daughter is Rogue after the superhero in X-Men. - Sharlene Collins
I wouldn't mind Cersei, Sansa or Arya but definitely NOT Khaleesi!! - Beaulah Muchira-Nhongo
If I had my way Zanre would have been called Cullen but nooooooo his Daddy said. - Zan-Mari Vosges
Hell no! - Tumisho Maake
Why not? If it's something that appeals to you- what does it matter where you heard it first? - Natasha Van Schoor
Yep. Kelso - from 'that 70's show. - Candice Peetz
Seriously?? - Shelley Louise Dormer
