We've made it to 8 months! Whoop whoop!

I'm so grateful to have made it this far in my pregnancy, especially without any major complications.

I'm healthy, the babies are healthy, so I really shouldn't be complaining about my lower back pain (but deep down inside, I am screaming because this pain is excruciating!)

In terms of weeks, I'm 32 weeks pregnant, which means we only have two more weeks to go before our family of THREE doubles up instantly!

And the timing of the new paternity leave bill, which came into effect last week, couldn't have come at a better time! It's like a blessing in disguise.

Nicolyn will now not only have more days to bond with his two boys and princess, but I will also have an extra pair of hands to help out at home.

He's been working out his leave days to the T, making sure he gets the most out of it.

'We're ready to welcome our three babies'

We kept Nikolai's infant car seat, so we just needed to buy two more. Of course, it wasn't just a case of going to a shop and buying car seats that we liked. Nope, not when you have Nicolyn as a husband.

For the past couple of months, we've been studying and comparing the prices of different car seats. And this past weekend we (and by we, I mean Nicolyn) finally found a great deal, and we managed to buy the last two (phew).

All three car seats are neatly lined up at home, and every time I walk past it, it gives me a sense and feeling that we're ready to welcome our three babies and to bring them home.

I think Nicolyn shares my sentiment because he already checked to make sure all three car seats fit into his car. And of course, his little sidekick, Nikolai, made sure he was there for the action.

Remember I mentioned that Nicolyn wouldn't be impressed if I went into labour over the Rugby World Cup weekend?

I think the babies secretly knew they'd be outshined by the Springboks lifting the trophy if they had to make an early appearance. And daddy Nicolyn was beside himself.

I think the fact that he got to watch the game with his dad and uncles, and not with me in a hospital room (haha), made him even more excited for the final.

The nesting phase has begun

I might be wrong, but I think Nicolyn and I are both slowly but surely entering the nesting phase. We've been cleaning out our cupboards, throwing out things we no longer need and rearranging our cabinets and closets.

We've also been rearranging our furniture to get a sense of how we want our living space to look once the renovations are done. And I've even tackled Nikolai's toybox throwing out some of his old and broken toys.

I'm stocking up on groceries, toiletries and detergents too. I think it's just my way of ensuring that we don't have to go to the shops for something as simple as soap or washing powder.

As I like to say, it will be all hands on deck once these three make their appearance.  I'm seeing my gynae on Friday for my last scheduled appointment.

Then we'll play the "waiting game" as we eagerly wait for our due date to arrive.

In a way, I'm kind of sad as I realise that soon I won't be pregnant anymore, but at the same time, I cannot wait to see our three little blessings' faces for the first time.

Next week I'll elaborate more on what it is I'll miss the most once I'm no longer pregnant.

Until next time!
