In my last blog, I wrote about my iron levels that's been really low. After being on sick leave for a week, I returned to work, still not feeling 100%.
It was then suggested that I work from home to ensure rest, recovery and to limit any stress from travelling to work (cause let's be honest, this bump is fighting with the steering wheel!).
This will be my second week working from home. I feel more comfortable and relaxed. And the much-needed rest has helped me appreciate this journey more.

The new normal
Since I've reached my six-month mark, it seems as if all the little niggles are starting to show. The cramps in my legs and feet are the worst. Not to mention the insomnia...and the occasional headache.
But I'm staying positive, and I'm starting to realise no two pregnancies are the same and I can't compare what I'm currently experiencing to my pregnancy four years ago.
It also seems that as we're ticking off the weeks, reality is starting to sink in, especially for Nicolyn and Nikolai. What we know as our normal now, won't be normal for much longer.
A quick trip to Paarl and Wellington to visit family and friends normally consists of Nicolyn packing in his golf clubs just in case he has time for a quick round on the course.
But he recently made a remark saying that his golf clubs will now have to make way for an extra big pram and baby bags.
Little big brother
Nikolai, on the other hand, asked his grandpa over the weekend whether he would buy the babies a smaller trampoline. He feels his trampoline, which is quite big by the way, is too small for all of them.
He also informed us that the babies won't be able to ride on his bikes, as they are still too small.
Guess he's already slowly starting to show signs that he's not planning on sharing his toys with the babies. But let's hope this all changes once he meets them.
I'm getting my steroid injections this week. Although I'm not looking forward to the actual injection, it will help with the development of the babies' lungs, seeing that we're merely weeks away from their arrival. (Eek!)
I'm just a little bit curious whether I'll have any side-effects after I've received the injections. Any moms out there that can maybe put my mind at ease?
Nicolyn and I decided that we're taking Nikolai with to our gynae appointment on Thursday. After we asked him if he would like to go with, he's now really looking forward to seeing the babies in real-time.
I'm excited and a little bit nervous for his reaction, because remember he's only been talking about one brother and one sister. But maybe seeing the babies will put things into perspective for him, or so I hope.
The Out-of-Towners
My sister, Laurenzia, and her son, Kgatoentle, are visiting us for the school holidays. And so far it's been such a treat having them here, sharing our journey with them.
They are super excited for the triplets' arrival, although my sister is a bit overprotective making sure I'm okay. She's been a bit next-level extra sometimes, requesting that I don't lock the bathroom or toilet door, just in case I need help with something (LOL).
She also let slip that this weekend is my baby shower (whoop whoop). I'm super excited seeing that she couldn't attend the last one my friends held for Nikolai.
So this time she made sure that she could attend. By now I'm sure you've summed up what my next blog will be about!
