There are different opinions whether x-rays during pregnancy are safe or not. Studies have been conflicting and like many things, x-rays can have risks as well as benefits. So don’t expose yourself and your baby to the zap gun, unless the benefits outweigh the risks.

It is always important that you let the doctor know that you are pregnant. X-ray examinations on the arms, legs, or chest don’t expose your reproductive organs to the direct beam. However, X-rays of the abdomen, stomach, pelvis, lower back and kidneys, have a greater chance reaching the uterus.

If you work with x-rays avoid exposure by wearing a protective apron and by leaving the room if possible when pressing the button.

Have you done a x-ray during pregnancy? Did the radiographer know about it?
