Quick change

Problem:

You've packed a change of clothes for your baby in case of spills and mishaps. But aren't you usually the one holding the baby when it happens?

Solution:

Pack a clean set of clothes, just like you would for the kids, for any unforeseen accidents. Make sure you add underwear in case the spill goes right through.

Keep things fun

Problem:

Your children get bored in the car and start fighting while sitting next to each other.

Solution:

Provide an attention-diverting holiday activity pack. Divide a cardboard box in two, giving each child his or her own side. Place the box in between the two with toys and treats inside. You can also wrap up some small inexpensive gifts, such as a colouring book or bubbles, for them to open along the way. This provides and element of anticipation along the journey and is guaranteed to cancel out those calls of "Are we there yet?" heralding from the back seat.

Packing problems solved

Problem:

When you're packing for you and baby chances are you're going to forget one of the many items you are going to need.

Solution:

Download this beautiful label from our website www.yourparenting.co.za, have it laminated and tie it onto your baby's bag. Using a marker, tick all the items off as you go along. Leave the label on the bag and check the items when you pack up to go back home in order to make sure that nothing gets left behind.

TIP:

Keep a few bottles of water in the car to ensure everyone stays hydrated on the road.
