Playmobil bank robbery!

Popular toy manufacturers Playmobil are known for their play sets which recreate life on the farm, fire fighters or knights on horseback in castles- for many the colourful sets formed a memorable part of childhood. Now, according to the Daily Mail, it would appear that Playmobil may have gone too far with the creation of a “Bank and Safe” set, which is designed to depict a bank robbery in progress.

Money mayhem

The set has stirred up anger and disbelief amongst anti-gun violence activist groups.

The bizarre play set, aimed at kids between the ages of 4 and 10, includes:
  • A blonde, masked female bank robber holding up a bank manager at gunpoint for gold bars
  • A cash machine and little wads of cash, as well as a screwdriver to pry it open
  • A bag to stash the loot in.
A description of the set on The Early Learning Centre website read: ‘Watch out. The bank robber is after all the money in the bank and is demanding the key to the safe - what will the bank manager do?’

The set is not suitable for children under the age of 3- due to small parts.

Would you let your kids recreate a violent heist?
