According to a study
it is said 'marijuana and ecstasy use among teens shows marked increases while
attitudes toward alcohol use have become more relaxed'. The numbers show that
between 2008 and 2010 teens who said they had used marijuana in the last year
went from 32% to 39%.
The use of the 'party drug' ecstasy has also risen by 4% and 45% of high school
children stated that they don't see a 'great risk' in heavy daily drinking.
Sean Clarkin from Partnership for a Drug Free America said, "There are
very high levels of kids reporting that they are using drugs and alcohol to
deal with stress, and the struggles families face in the current economy could
be a factor in that."
