The UK Daily Mail reports that the eldest son of US Rapper, Snoop Dogg (40), Corde Calvin Broadus (18), posted pictures on twitter of him and his dad smoking what appears to be weed. There has been a lot of debate going on as to whether Snoop Dogg has failed as a father or whether he is doing the right thing in not being hypocritical.

Snoop Dogg openly supports drug use and has been arrested for being in possession of cannabis in the past.

According to various news reports, Corde Calvin Broadus, an accomplished sportsman, put his football career on hold despite being headhunted by various colleges to concentrate on rap music under his father’s guidance.

Judging from the pictures, which Corde posted for the whole world to see, which appear to show father and son smoking bongs (a filtration device/apparatus generally used for smoking cannabis or tobacco) is Snoop doing a good job in guiding his son?

'He’s a good father'

Tracie Egan Morrissey of Jezebel came to Snoopy Dogg’s defence by writing: "But is anybody really shocked that the rapper would get stoned with his kid? After all, Snoop's career and identity is practically synonymous with marijuana. Would you be surprised to see Lance Armstrong riding bikes with his kids or Paula Deen passing the butter to the left at the dinner table to hers? I actually respect Snoop for blazing with his son because at least he isn't a hypocrite."

A writer from thesop.org supported Snoopy Dogg by writing: "Snoop Dogg smoking weed with his son is as natural as the Rev. Pat Robertson reading the Bible with his son. The images of Snoop and his son hitting a bong are as wholesome as a Norman Rockwell painting, and Snoop should be commended for spending quality time with his son."

'Failed as a parent'

Hollywood life slammed the rapper: "Snoop: I know you’re a rap superstar, but Corde will not have a happy life if he just lives off all of your money doing nothing. He seemed to be so ambitious and college-bound, but now he’s smoked it all away. To us, smoking pot with your teenage son is no way to set a good example, and you shouldn’t derail his collegiate dreams just because you love weed."

Recent studies  have tied Cannibas to testicular cancer in young men. Teens who smoke the drug regularly may have lower IQ scores as an adults. So is Snoop really a loving father? Would a good dad expose his son to such risks?

Does smoking weed with his son make Snoop Dogg a bad parent?
