Just one year into his teens and already Josh Birch Jones is winning awards and making history, showcasing his work at the 2019 International Fashion Week in Amsterdam

The teenager is the youngest designer to show off his designs at the event and the elegant and flowing dresses are part of his collection, Sweet Dreams. His first presentation took place in 2018 at London Fashion Week

The successful designer has won several young designer awards including the IAA Juvenile award and he has already launched a fashion label, Designed by Josh.

Joanna, Josh's mother, says that when she saw the first collection go through London Fashion Week she was overwhelmed with emotion: "When I saw the first collection go out during London Fashion Week I absolutely cried my lungs out in pride thinking that my son has just done that!"

For Josh, fashion is "something you treasure" and "one of life's luxuries."

"For the capsule collection, my whole aim was to give women confidence. Everyone deserves to have a nice thing in their wardrobe that they feel comfortable in," he adds.

Joanna says Josh's love for fashion designing started at the age of four. She retells the story of how it all began, saying: "He used to sit in front of my wardrobe, look at my dresses, draw them and then recreate and put his own stamp on them... it's his passion."

She says "seeing your child draw like this at such a young age is pretty impressive really."

When asked about his future career plans, Josh said his goal is "to showcase in the major capitals of the world and then to eventually have stores in all those countries as well."

When asked about what makes him a successful designer, model Midori Amae says, "the fact that he has that beautiful eye for detail already, that is how we know that he is on his way to [being] a great designer."
