Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-2  to get back on the winning trail in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Ryan Gravenberch made way for Mohamed Salah, while the visitors dropped Richarlison after the defeat to Chelsea as Rodrigo Bentacur started in midfield once again.

A dominant Reds highlighted proceedings early on, with Cristiano Romero reduced to a goal-line clearance from Harvey Elliott’s shot before Salah glanced the woodwork following a cross-cum shot.

The Egyptian ace made amends past the quarter mark of the first half when he ran in at the back-post to nod in from a tight angle.

Spurs enjoyed no forward penetrations and saw the Reds continue seeing all of the momentum and doubled the lead when Andrew Robertson tapped in a loose ball on the stroke of halftime.

Much of the latter phases injected a lot of pace in the play, where the action shifted repeatedly from one end of the scale and onto the very next.

The dominance of the host remained five minutes from halftime as Coady Gakpo added a third goal after finding the bottom corner with a powerful header following a floated cross.

It took the visitors a while to get going and were denied a comeback off a diving header by Brennan Johnson following Pedro Porro’s cross.

However, Elliott extended the lead towards the midway quarter when stepped ahead of Rodrigo to get control of a square pass to the area and fired in the top corner.

Richarlison, Maddison and Oliver Skipp were introduced by the visitors in the hope of changing the deficit and salvage something for the travelling contingent.

Spurs did pull a goal back with under 20 minutes to play when Richardson bombed in the area to tap in a cutback from Johnson.

The visitors bagged in another over the closing exchanges after Heung-Min Son managed to get into a promising position in the area and dispatched Richarlison’s layoff with ease.

With time running out, the Reds looked to have added a fifth goal through a thumping finish from close-range by Salah but the flag went up though victory went their way with Spurs handed a fourth successive loss.
