A possible motive for the suspension of Unisa's acting chief financial officer (CFO), Reshma Mathura, was her cooperation in an Hawks investigation into corruption at the institution.

This is the view of AfriForum's Private Prosecution Unit, which has appealed to Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande for his intercession.
