Five men implicated in a series of grave offences - including house robbery, kidnapping and extortion - have been arrested by police in Potchefstroom.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the men were arrested on Friday following a house robbery in Extension 6, Khuma, the night before.  

During the robbery, the gun-wielding men threatened a woman, before escaping with R6 500 in cash and her 19-year-old son, along with his cellphone.
