Businessman Mthunzi Mdwaba has lost a second defamation case after his comments last year that ministers were seeking R500 million in bribes from him.

On Friday, the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria ordered that Thuja Capital executive Mthunzi Mdwaba stop defaming Labour and Employment Minister Thulas Nxesi.

This follows Mdwaba's November accusations that ANC Cabinet members had tried to solicit a bribe from him so Thuja Capital could win a R5-billion tender from the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
