KING Misuzulu kaZwelithini is taking wife number three, Masesi Myeni.

The Zulu royal house delegation will pay lobola for Misuzulu’s wife on Sunday, 5 May, at Myeni’s home in Jozini, northern KZN.

Sources said the news was broken by Zulu monarch traditional prime minister Reverand Thulasizwe Buthelezi, who announced it during the royal house family meeting at KwaKhangelamankengane royal palace on Tuesday, 30 April.

Buthelezi allegedly told the royal house members that the king was taking the third wife from the Myenis, and he asked the royal house members to be part of the delegation.

Another source said the king has been seeing Masesi since 2022 when she was still working in one of the banks in Jozini. She later resigned and worked at the king’s office.

Buthelezi didn’t confirm or deny but he said as sources said, it was discussed during the royal house private meeting. However, he said he won't comment because the matter was not for the public.

“If it is said that the meeting was in the king’s palace in KwaKhangelamankengane, that means all that was discussed is not for the public,” he said.

In 2021 when King Misuzulu was about to ascend to the Zulu throne, he took Queen Ntokozo Mayisela who is a qualified musician from Newcastle in KZN as his first wife.

He also took his second wife, Queen Nozizwe Mulela, the managing director of the state-owned eSwatini Bank.

Misuzulu is following in his father King Zwelithini’s footstep, who had six wives: Queen Sibongile Dlamini, Queen Buhle Mathe, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini (King Misuzulu’s mother), Queen Jayne Ndlovu, Queen Nompumelelo Mchiza and Queen Zola Mafu.
