Tammy Slaton recently took to Instagram to show off her incredible transformation.

The 37-year-old reality TV star has shed about half her body weight, going from 325kg to 129kg in 14 months.

Her followers are loving the change, with one of her fans writing, “Look at you moving and grooving! You’re looking so good! Sending love!”

Another added, “I am just blown away at your transformation. So good to see you happy and thriving.”

Tammy says she hated her life before she lost the weight.

“I hated everything about life. Now, I’m just going with it. Life throws me a curve ball and I just do my best to jump over the hurdle.”

She rose to fame in 2020 when she and her sister, Amy (35), starred in their own TV show, 1000-lb Sisters.

At the time, Tammy weighed over 325kg and Amy 107kg, meaning they weighted over 400kg combined.

When the show first premiered, the sisters said they had tried everything to lose weight, but nothing worked.

They were on a mission to lose weight in order to qualify for weight-loss surgery.

“I had a feeling that if I didn’t make changes now, I wasn’t going to live past 35,” Tammy said at the time.

While Amy lost weight quickly, Tammy struggled. In fact, by the second season of the show, she'd actually gained more weight and turned to alcohol to help her cope with her disappointment.

It wasn’t until she landed in hospital in 2021 with obesity hypoventilation syndrome  a condition that occurs when someone breathes at an abnormally slow rate, which results in too much carbon dioxide and not enough oxygen entering their blood  that she was forced to take drastic action to turn her life around.

Tammy checked into a weight-loss clinic for a year to deal with her food addiction and within months started losing weight.

“She’s improving tremendously. She’s increased physical activity, which is amazing. She’s able to do more things on her own,” a friend told The Sun in early 2022, adding that Tammy quit smoking and drinking cold turkey.

In March 2022, Tammy told her followers she was staying on track and just three months later qualified for weight-loss surgery after losing 52kg.

She also found love with fellow patient Caleb Willingham (40).

“They have a lot of the same struggles that they can share. They've been a huge support for each other [in rehab], which is awesome," said a source about their relationship.

In October of that year, Caleb proposed and the couple tied the knot just two months later. However, their happiness was short-lived as Caleb died a few months later from unknown causes.

Tammy didn't allow her heartbreak to trigger a return to bad habits but says she is still a work in progress.

“Before I was in rehab, I was bitter, unhappy, very super-suicidal, depressed and just mean," she told followers in February. "Everybody hated me and they still do. Oh well. I had this 'I-don't-care attitude' back then. I still do but it's not as bad. I'm working on myself still.”

Tammy says as a result of her weight loss she's now able to get on a plane, ride in the front seat of a car, go inside a hot air balloon and on rides at Disney World  things she wouldn't have dreamed of being able to do before.

“I’m more or less like giving myself a pat on the back for achieving something and doing it. Getting the weight off and living. That’s what I'm doing. I can finally say I'm living life.”
