Storytime creates some pretty special memories for both parents and their children but for this Scottish granny, reading a picture book to her grandson meant not only going viral but also working miracles for book sales.
First released in 2010, and originally written as a children's song by New Zealand author and musician Craig Smith, The Wonky Donkey received a fair amount of success when it was first published. Back then, book sales reached roughly 1 million copies.
But when Janice Clark was filmed laughing hysterically while reading the book to her then 4-month-old grandson, Arthur, the video quickly went viral. To date, it's been viewed more than 700 000 times... and book sales has gone through the roof.
The author reported additional sales of about $110 000 within just a week, adding that there were plans to print 50 000 more copies!
