From a one million word advantage to why rhyming matters for young readers, the Parent24 Storytime hub is filled with reasons parents should be reading to their children.
We also provide loads of free stories to read from your device, and to download and print and keep - in a variety of languages too. We've even got audio!
But, even by our standards, this is next level.
Launched by non-profit The Space Foundation, Story Time in Space has, quite literally, turned reading into an out of this world experience!
Zero-gravity story-telling
The concept was developed in collaboration with NASA astronaut Alvin Drew and the Space Center Houston to promote reading and STEM education.
Since then, the idea has grown to include a trove of stories read by both male and female astronauts in all their gravity-free glory, narrating stories like A Moon of My Own, The Rhino Who Swallowed A Storm, Moustronaut and Rosie Revere, Engineer, from inside the International Space Station.
Viewers can even see the various buttons and wires inside of the International Space Station, so it's a truly unique experience for curious children struggling to see reading as exciting and fun.
In some of the videos, Earth (as seen from space) is also visible!
Take a look at the view behind astronaut Mike Hopkins while reading Max Goes to Mars, by Jeffrey Bennet below:

So if you've tried just about everything to get your child to fall in love with reading and nothing seems to work, how about taking storytime to outer space?
Keep your eyes peeled on the Parent24 Storytime hub as we'll be sharing these, and more, free children's stories read by space explorers every week.
