The importance of reading to kids cannot be over-stressed, but a concerning study in 2019 revealed that 50% of children have never read a book with their parents.
Additionally, too many kids are struggling to read and write, and those who miss out on early childhood education may never fully catch up on their cognitive and personal development, and will probably battle with learning to read, write, spell later in life.
Add to that the 2020 mass school closures in response to the Covid-19 global pandemic, and it would seem that our children are facing an insurmountable setback.
Not necessarily so!
